Blog

Hey Onesies,

This is the good stuff! All things Heart, Mind, Body and Spirit live on the blog. The Heart section is all about the passions that make our heart sing. My heart’s passion comes from the joy of storytelling and learning to love people by seeing their point of view. I believe God has given us all passions and complementary gifts to help those passions come to fruition. I hope sharing the journey of my heart’s passion encourages you to discover and chase your own.

The Mind part of the blog is all about wonder. From random movie quotes to anxious thoughts, the mind is tricky place. Mine often feels like a paradox of complexity, simplicity and everything in between, but let’s wade through the wonder together. Like our mind, the body finds creative ways to tell us whether we are healthy. In order to become our best onesies, we must keep of vessels healthy. The Body category is dedicated to maintaining a strong, healthy body. Especially as women, this goal can be difficult and the fight with how we view our bodies can be equally as hard. However, like my second favorite Jordin Sparks’ song says, we’ll get there “one step at a time.”

Last, but not least, is the Spirit. Usually an overlooked part of our lives, I’d argue the spirit is the most important. Just like we are mind and body, we are also spiritual beings and connecting with our savior, Jesus, changes the trajectory of our lives. Walking with the one who died for us to live whole lives makes the journey worth traveling, but it doesn’t stop us from suffering. This space will be about reconciling our thoughts, dreams, and perplexities with Jesus.

Understandably, working on all these aspects of our lives simultaneously can feel daunting. It felt daunting to me too. If I’m honest, I don’t think I’ll ever meet the Body goal of drinking enough water every day, but I still try. This is the goal friends: to always try. When I was young, my mom would always say to try my best. If the best you can give is taking a 10 minute walk and writing a journal entry this week, than walk and write your butt off! As you’ll see in the blog, the goal is not perfection, its progress. We have our whole lives to live whole lives. 🙂
